Review: A Million Suns by Beth Revis

A Million Suns (Across the Universe, #2)
Reading Level: Young Adult
Publisher: Razorbill
Second in the Across the Universe trilogy

It's been three months since Amy was unplugged. The life she always knew is over. And everywhere she looks, she sees the walls of the spaceship Godspeed. But there may just be hope: Elder has assumed leadership of the ship. He's finally free to enact his vision - no more Phydus, no more lies.
But when Elder discovers shocking news about the ship, he and Amy race to discover the truth behind life on Godspeed. They must work together to unlock a puzzle that was set in motion hundreds of years earlier, unable to fight the romance that's growing between them and the chaos that threatens to tear them apart.
In book two of the Across the Universe trilogy, New York Times bestselling author Beth Revis mesmerizes us again with a brilliantly crafted mystery filled with action, suspense, romance, and deep philosophical questions. And this time it all builds to one mind-bending conclusion: They have to get off this ship.
I was so happy and surprised when I got a package and it was from Beth Revis. A lot of people entered her amazing giveaway and I wasn't expecting to win and I didn't know until I got the package that I did. I absolutely loved the first one Across the Universe it was one of the best books I read in 2011. The plot and setting was like nothing I've ever read before and all the twists kept me guessing. I was really excited to read A Million Suns I couldn't wait to know what would happen when Elder became Eldest and hopefully more romance between Amy and Elder. And this book did not disappoint.

Normally the second book in a series is my least favorite but this was better than the first. From the beginning it was never slow and nearly ever chapter I gasped because something big happened. The first one definitely didn't give you all the answers and though this was the second book there were tons of twists and secrets and I loved all the clues that Amy and Elder had to figure out. I hated all the people rebelling against Elder when all he was trying to do was save the ship and I hated all the people who were mean to Amy and blamed her for everything just because she was different.
I liked how in the first one Amy didn't immediately fall in love with Elder even though I did :) and that's not normal for most YA books and she still didn't in this one it took a while for her to forgive him and trust him again and she felt like she didn't have anyone else to choose from. Even though we had to wait half the book for Elder and Amy to get cute the build up was great and when they finally did oh my gosh they were absolutely adorable. They are my new favorite couple and I can't wait to see what happens with them. I liked all the back stories into characters we didn't learn very much about in the first one and how Harley was in this a lot more than I thought he would be even though he's not there. Overall this book was the best book I've read in a while and this is one of my new favorite series and I don't know how I'm going to wait a year to see how everything works out especially with that ending. And the cover is gorgeous as you can tell I love stars :) If I could give it more than five stars I would and if you haven't already read these books I don't know what you’re waiting for. 5/5 stars
