Waiting on Wednesday: Star Cursed by Jessica Spotswood

****"Waiting on Wednesday" is a weekly event hosted by Jill at the Breaking The Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.****

My pick for this week is:
Star Cursed (The Cahill Witch Chronicles #2)
Star Cursed by Jessica Spotswood
Expected release date: June 18th, 2013
from Putnam Juvenile
With the Brotherhood persecuting witches like never before, a divided Sisterhood desperately needs Cate to come into her Prophesied powers. And after Cate's friend Sachi is arrested for using magic, a war-thirsty Sister offers to help her find answers—if Cate is willing to endanger everyone she loves.

Cate doesn't want to be a weapon, and she doesn't want to involve her friends and Finn in the Sisterhood's schemes. But when Maura and Tess join the Sisterhood, Maura makes it clear that she'll do whatever it takes to lead the witches to victory. Even if it means sacrifices. Even if it means overthrowing Cate. Even if it means all-out war.

In the highly anticipated sequel to Born Wicked, the Cahill Witch Chronicles continue Cate, Maura and Tess's quest to find love, protect family, and explore their magic against all odds in an alternate history of New England.
I absolutely loved the first book in this series, Born Wicked. There was witches, an alternate historical setting thing going on and plenty of romance. So I'm very excited to read this and see where the story takes Cate and her sisters and the lovely, bookish Finn, who I miss very much :). And can I just say that cover is gorgeous. It definitely goes with the blog.

  1. Yes! I cannot wait for this one! And even though this cover is very pretty, I'm bummed that it won't match my copy of Born Wicked, which is signed, so of course I'm not going to get rid of it or anything. It's just a little bit of a bummer.
Super great pick, though, because I can't wait to read it and find out what happens next!

  2. I have Born Wicked and I still need to read it. But I've heard it's good so I look forward to it.

Thanks for stopping by Book Sojourner!
