TigerLily by Jodi Lynn Anderson Review

Tiger Lily
Reading Level: Young Adult
Publisher: Harper Collins
Source: Conference
Standalone
Before Peter Pan belonged to Wendy, he belonged to the girl with the crow feather in her hair. . . .
Fifteen-year-old Tiger Lily doesn't believe in love stories or happy endings. Then she meets the alluring teenage Peter Pan in the forbidden woods of Neverland and immediately falls under his spell.
Peter is unlike anyone she's ever known. Impetuous and brave, he both scares and enthralls her. As the leader of the Lost Boys, the most fearsome of Neverland's inhabitants, Peter is an unthinkable match for Tiger Lily. Soon, she is risking everything—her family, her future—to be with him. When she is faced with marriage to a terrible man in her own tribe, she must choose between the life she's always known and running away to an uncertain future with Peter.
With enemies threatening to tear them apart, the lovers seem doomed. But it's the arrival of Wendy Darling, an English girl who's everything Tiger Lily is not, that leads Tiger Lily to discover that the most dangerous enemies can live inside even the most loyal and loving heart.
From the New York Times bestselling author of Peaches comes a magical and bewitching story of the romance between a fearless heroine and the boy who wouldn't grow up.

Review
I was so excited to read this. It sounded so amazing. It was just as good and I thought it was going to be. The characters were amazing. The setting was great. I wish I could live in Neverland. The storyline was fantabulous. I never wanted to put this down and when I did it was all I thought about.

I loved Tigerlily. I like how unique she was. She never failed to surprise me. I loved her fierceness. I loved that she wasn't what she portrayed. There was so many different sides to her. She had quite the life but she tried to make the best of it. Peter really surprised me. I think I was expecting him to be like the Peter in the Disney movie and he wasn't at all. He's a pretty complex character. I had moments when I loved him then I had moments when I didn't like him. Even though Tigerlily and Peter had some cute moments, I feel like they were both fighting for something they knew they couldn't have. Then they were forced to settle. But I think that played a big part in the story and it worked out well. I think these characters were amazing and so well done.

I absolutely love that this story is told from Tinkerbell. It felt like I was watching a movie. I loved how the story was constantly changing. There was so many twists and turns. This was impossible to put down as I said before. There was so much suspense. It made me want to go watch Peter Pan and compare. I doubt they are anything alike though and I like that. It's what makes this such a unique story. Overall I loved this book so much. It had everything a great book needs. I'm so glad I got the chance to read it. If you haven't read this one I highly recommend because I think a lot of people will enjoy this story. 5/5 stars
