This weeks topic is Top Ten Favorite books with X setting. This is probably going to consist of books with cool worlds or settings :).

 

1. Fateful by Claudia Gray. This is set on the Titanic and in that time frame and it is amazing!
2. The Die for Me series by Amy Plum. Paris Oh La La.
3. The Across the Universe series by Beth Revis. Space is totally the best setting ever!
4. TigerLilly by Jodi Lynn Anderson. This one is a Peter Pan story told from Tink's perspective. 
5. The Hex Hall series by Rachel Hawkins. This is probably one of my favorite school set books.  
6. The Incarnate series by Jodi Meadows. This has a very unique world and structure of living.
7. Shadow and Bone by Leigh Bardugo. This has an amazing world. It's so creative its insane.
8. Graceling Realm series by Kristin Cashore. Each book in this series shows us a different realm and there all amazingly built.
9. The Under the Never Sky series by Veronica Rossi. I just love the way these worlds are built. She pays so much attention to detail!.
10. Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins. This one is so amazing because it not only features a school setting but its set in Paris as well.

Review
This was insanely difficult to push through. I found myself wanting to give up and not finish it. I had hopes that the story would improve after the first book but I was terribly disappointed. 

This continues Eden's story. He's desperate to adapt and become Bramfords mate. What she doesn't realize is she is about to find herself caught in a war she may not be able to win. 

Eden was so incredibly annoying in this. Far worse than the first book. She spent most of the book either pinning for Bramford, demanding control, or obsessing from afar. She wasn't very likable as a character. By the end of the book I was so tired of her it's insane. Bramford also lacked. I didn't enjoy him as much as I did in the first book. He had a few too many secrets and beyond too much attitude. 

This had one of those story lines that had too much going on. I had a problem with that in the first book as well. It was just so hard to keep up. I'm going to be honest and say I pushed through without paying too much attention just because I wanted to be done. This had too many flaws for me to even enjoy the story at all.

If you know me at all you know that I love Greek mythology. So it's kind of a given that I love this series. It's one of my favorites. Even though I'm super sad that this is the last one and I'm probably going to cry my eyes out, all these characters (maybe even Seth) deserve their happy ending. That doesn't necessarily mean they're going to get one. We'll have to see.

This weeks topic is Top Ten Books I Wish Had Sequels. This was sort of hard because I haven't read very many stand alones. I did come up with a few, though. None of these are really ones where there wasn't enough, they just made me want more. More if the characters. More of the world. More of the story. More kissing.

1. The Host by Stephanie Meyer- I'm sure if you read the Host you understand where I'm coming from. I need more of those boys. It's supposed to be a trilogy, but the Host came out 5 years ago. The author says she's working on it but it's one of those things I won't believe until I see.
2. The Fairytale Keeper by Andrea Cefalo- I'm pretty sure there's a sequel in the works, but I haven't heard anything about it. I'm dying to know where the story goes.
3. As You Wish by Jackson Pearce- This was such a cute, original book. With a genie in it. I can imagine like a sitcom kind of series about the day to day dramas of dating a genie. That would be so cute.
4. Hourglass by Myra McEntire- Now this one is actually a first in a trilogy. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely loved reading from Kaleb's perspective in Timepiece, but I still missed Michael and Emerson.
5. The Near Witch by Victoria Schwab- Even though this book wrapped up perfectly, I would still love a sequel. The author created such a beautiful world that I wanted to return to it so bad. Also Cole was pretty cute.
6. The Truth About Forever by Sarah Dessen- This is one of the many where the characters get together at the end and I just want to keep reading about them being cute.
7. In Honor by Jessi Kirby- In the same way as the Near Witch the story was perfectly wrapped up in the end. I just loved the characters so much that I wanted to see what came next for them.

Jasmine's  Review:

I had incredibly high expectations for this book. The first book in this series held my heart in its hands. Now, I didn't love this as much as the first book but it was still amazing.

 

This tells the story of Allie. She is forced to return home after she learns of her mothers condition. She ran away for a reason. Those problems are still there when she returns home. Allie was the love of Dean's life until she picked up and left. Now she's back and he wants answers.

 

I really liked Allie. I loved how tough she was. She was going through hell but she remained strong. I did wish she would have let Dean in. She kept him at a distance when all he wanted was to help her. I understand her reasoning but it still got a little annoying. I loved Dean. I loved his manners. He was a very strong character but also very adorable. He was a caretaker and seeing him take care of Allie was great. Allie and Dean may have had a rocky relationship. I loved seeing them get back on track!

 

This had a very real life storyline. It was something I've never really read about. I liked the realism but it was a little much at times. Abuse is a scary thing but it's also a very real thing. It may have been a little much but it was needed. This had a pretty fast paced plot. I didn't see any of the twists coming. I only took two hours to read this. I couldn't stop it was that good. It almost felt like I was watching a movie. Overall I thought this was an amazing read. If your a fan of real stories with real life problems, this one is for you!

I absolutely loved Fight or Flight so when I heard the author had written another book in the same series I knew I had to read it. Then I found out it was about a side character in the first book that I knew had a story to tell and I wanted to read it even more. When I did I was completely captivated by Allie and Deans story.

We meet Allie in Fight or Flight when she found out that her mom has cancer and has to leave the streets to go back to her very troubled home life. In Sink or Swim we find her returning to a home that isn't much better than being homeless. Dean, her boyfriend from before she left does make things a little better if not more complicated.

I really liked Allie. Due to a life of abuse she didn't think very highly of herself, but she was a pretty amazing character. She was very strong and almost too selfless. Dean was adorable. I loved how he never gave up on Allie and how much he loved his family. Dean and Allie were great together. They would do anything for each other and I thought they were super adorable. Dean's family were all interesting side characters.

I flew through this book. There never was a good enough reason to put it down and I wanted the characters to have the happy ending they deserved so before I knew it I was almost done with it. I never knew what was going to happen next and I was always surprised about what did. I can't wait to see what's next in this series. If you haven't read it yet you're missing out. I have a feeling I'll love anything this author writes.
