Reread review: Incarnate by Jodi Meadows

I decided to go ahead and review this one even though I reread it. Only because a review is one of the Team Incarnate activities. There will also be a few of my favorite quotes at the bottom of the post as a part of one of the other activities. I hope you guys like and keep an eye out for Asunder coming out 1/29/13.

Incarnate (Newsoul, #1)
Reading Level: Young Adult
Publisher: Katherine Tegen
Source: Conference
First book in the Newsoul series
New soul
Ana is new. For thousands of years in Range, a million souls have been reincarnated over and over, keeping their memories and experiences from previous lifetimes. When Ana was born, another soul vanished, and no one knows why.
No soul
Even Ana's own mother thinks she's a nosoul, an omen of worse things to come, and has kept her away from society. To escape her seclusion and learn whether she'll be reincarnated, Ana travels to the city of Heart, but its citizens are afraid of what her presence means. When dragons and sylph attack the city, is Ana to blame?
Heart
Sam believes Ana's new soul is good and worthwhile. When he stands up for her, their relationship blooms. But can he love someone who may live only once, and will Ana's enemies—human and creature alike—let them be together? Ana needs to uncover the mistake that gave her someone else's life, but will her quest threaten the peace of Heart and destroy the promise of reincarnation for all?
Jodi Meadows expertly weaves soul-deep romance, fantasy, and danger into an extraordinary tale of new life.

Review
I remembered nothing about this book, I had to reread it before Asunder comes. I've missed it so much. It's been awhile since I originally read it . I missed the characters and the unique storyline. Now, Asunder couldn't come any faster.

Ana is one of those characters you learn to love. It takes some time to get used to her, because she is such a uniquely made character. In the end I ended up loving her but it took some time. Ana doesn't know who she is. She doesn't know how to be a person because she was never taught. When she joins Sam she's not sure how to act around him. At times it can be a bit frustrating because she isn't always the nicest person to Sam. And he is such a sweetheart that it makes you not care for Ana too much. But, she does eventually learn how to be around people and is very likable. I loved watching her grow and change as a character. Sam I absolutely adore. I loved him from the moment he came into the story. I loved how he cared for Ana even before he really knew her. I'm excited to hopefully get to know him better in the sequel.

Since this is a reread review I'm gonna gush a little about how excited I am for Asunder.  I have a review from when I first reviewed this one and you can find that here. Guys! I am literally so excited for Asunder, you have no idea how excited I am. This series has such a unique storyline that I can't wait to dive back into it. I miss the characters and can't wait to continue their story. Even though this was a reread I still read it insanely fast. I couldn't put it down. I loved that this book really has its own version of action. Consisting of battles and tension between characters. And, you can't predict the story at all. You have to wait and let it unravel. Overall I'm so glad I reread this one. It made me want Asunder like now but I still have a little while to wait. If you haven't read this one I very highly recommend.

Here are a couple quotes from Incarnate that I really like and hope you do too!  If you have one that I didn't include be sure to leave a comment with it :).

“Music overwhelmed me, soaked into my skin like water. I didn’t have words for the squiggles and dashes across the pages, or the way his fingers stretched across the keys to make my heart race. If I could hear only one thing for the rest of my life, this was what I wanted.”

“Im not going to waste time being angry about things I cant control. If I only have one life, I should make the most of it.”

“I think I died to be reborn with you"

“My heart wasn't big enough to hold everything I felt, but I couldn't bear the thought of asking him to wait while I caught up.”

“Breathing in the scent of his hair,I realized I'd needed him my whole life, before we even met. First, his music and the way he taught me through books and recordings. Then, he saved my life and refused to abandon me no matter how much I deserved it.”

“A thousand years from now, even if I was never reborn, people would remember me: Ana Incarnate”
