Opal by Jennifer L. Armentrout Review

Opal (Lux, #3)
Reading Level: Young Adult
Source: Bought
Publisher: Entangeled
Third book in the Lux series
No one is like Daemon Black.
When he set out to prove his feelings for me, he wasn’t fooling around. Doubting him isn’t something I’ll do again, and now that we’ve made it through the rough patches, well... There’s a lot of spontaneous combustion going on.
But even he can’t protect his family from the danger of trying to free those they love.
After everything, I’m no longer the same Katy. I’m different... And I’m not sure what that will mean in the end. When each step we take in discovering the truth puts us in the path of the secret organization responsible for torturing and testing hybrids, the more I realize there is no end to what I’m capable of. The death of someone close still lingers, help comes from the most unlikely source, and friends will become the deadliest of enemies, but we won’t turn back. Even if the outcome will shatter our worlds forever.
Together we’re stronger... and they know it.

Review
I think I would die if I had to wait a year for the next book in this series. I'm so glad it's on,y 6 months. I was beyond ready to throw myself back into the Luxen world. I missed the story and the characters so very much. This was an amazing addition to the series. It might just be my favorite. I loved it so much. It was amazing.

I will forever love Katy. She really is an amazing character. She never stops growing. I liked that she owned up for what was her fault. I liked how she always wanted to help. I liked that she tried to stay strong. And lastly, I liked how feisty she could be. She wasn't going to let anyone walk over her. Oh Daemon(pets). I swear he is the most amazing character. He never fails to surprise me. He has that wonderful, snarky personality that we all love. But, he can also be the sweetest guy in the world when he wants. Katy and Daemon have one if the cutest relationships ever. Their adorableness is overwhelming. I was drowning in it. It was definitely my favorite part. The secondary characters were pretty awesome too. I can't wait to read more about them.

Yay for aliens. I never read about aliens. That might be one of the reasons I enjoy this story so much. Or maybe because it's flat out amazing. Now that I know the inspiration behind it I find it even more unique than I did before. This one had a pretty great storyline. It was Rey action packed which made it impossible to put down. Once I had it in my hands, I read it nonstop. It took me about 6 hours to finish it. Overall I think this was a perfect read. It had so many amazing aspects. I can't wait to continue the series( especially with that cliffhanger). If you haven't read this one or this series, what are you waiting for? Get to it!

  2. Amazing review, Jasmine! Can you believe I've still not read this series?! It's shocking, I know! :( Especially since I know I would just LOVE Daemon - snarky, sarcastic characters are my faves! He also sounds a lot like Will out of The Infernal Devices by Cassandra Clare - and that is a VERY good thing! ;) I also love books that contain a lot of action! :)

Thanks for sharing this review! I might actually make myself go read it now! :D xx

  3. I'm so glad you loved this book Jasmine. I've heard so many great things about the series. However, I'm at a dilemma: my library doesn't have anything by Jennifer L. Armentrout. Therefore, I have a question to ask. Would it be worth it to splurge and buy all her books?
